Pathway to  iGCSE Maths — Edexcel Specification A  for Home Educators

A structured learning program (Foundation & Higher Tiers) for home educated students, combining small online group tuition with a guided pathway through iGCSE Maths from foundations to exam readiness.

“Imagine your teen confidently mastering their maths exam preparation with a clear, structured approach designed specifically for home educators — building understanding step by step, and progressing with confidence through each stage of iGCSE Maths."

The Pathway is a complete iGCSE Maths learning program — a structured journey where each module represents one stage, building towards full exam readiness.

  • Grade-based learning in small online groups (max 8 students)
  • Structured pathway through iGCSE Maths topics
  • A comprehensive resource library covering all grades
  • Live lessons with replays for flexible revision and catch-up
  • Ongoing guided independent study between sessions

Learning continues beyond live lessons through guided practice, video theory, past paper walkthroughs, and structured resources between sessions.

The course follows Pearson Edexcel iGCSE Maths Specification A (Foundation and Higher Tiers), with extension into selected GCSE topics to keep exam pathways flexible. Going forward, the terms GCSE and iGCSE are used interchangeably.

You may be wondering whether your teen is ready for GCSE maths or whether this structured module pathway will fit around your home educating schedule. That makes total sense—and here’s how we make sure you'll know the answer:

✅ The Pathway is for home educators who:

  • are working towards GCSE maths (Foundation or Higher)
  • want a clear, structured plan through the topics, not ad‑hoc worksheets or occasional help
  • need more structure than self‑paced courses, but don’t want to pay for weekly 1‑1 tuition
  • can attend live lessons, and are willing to do assigned learning and practice in between
  • are ready to commit to a 3–4 month module so they can move forward steadily with the same group

❌ It’s not a good fit if you:

  • are not yet sure whether your teen will sit GCSE maths
  • want completely flexible 'drop in/drop out' sessions with no fixed schedule
  • are looking for weekly personalised 1‑1 tuition
  • are not ready to commit to regular attendance over the module, or to help your teen catch up if they miss a class

You may not have been focused on formal KS3 maths knowledge. You may not have been following any structure while home educating. But your teen's ready to start their path towards GCSE maths. If their primary maths knowledge is solid, welcome to:

The Pathway to building GCSE maths knowledge in 3 years
(no previous formal KS3 knowledge required)

Note: Maths is a ladder! For example, to be ready for a Grade 4 exam result, a student needs the solid foundations built in Grades 1–3. Not sure where to start? Let's chat.

The Pathway to iGCSE Maths was founded by Veronika Skye, a mathematician and educator who has been helping students understand maths and develop further interest in the subject for nearly two decades.

Meet Veronika

With Veronika, you'll get live sessions that are easy to enjoy ✨

The best benefits of small groups (8 students max) — your teen can ask questions, but they don't have to be in the spotlight. No pressure, just clear structure and help when they need it. No question is too silly! 🙃

  • 🎥 Cameras off? Sure, why not?
  • 🎤 Microphones off? Just use chat, that's fine. Or talk if you want to.
  • ⁉️ Error or mistake? Let us know so we can figure it out together — this is how we learn!

The 3+1 rhythm: Paced for real life

We learn together in live sessions for 3 weeks each month, followed by 1 week without live sessions. Why? Because maths needs time to "sink in." This break week is a built-in reset moment, perfect for:

  • Rest: A proper breather to keep motivation high and avoid burnout.
  • Implementation: Space to dive into the resource library and practice at their own pace.
  • Catching up: If life gets busy, there’s no pressure—you have a full week to get back on track.

It’s the perfect balance of interactive learning and independent mastery.

Each Pathway consists of several Modules. Each Module covers a particular list of topics and runs for a certain number of months (grade-dependent). Each month includes a consolidation week to catch up, revise, or move ahead using the provided resources.

You can join at the grade that best matches your teen’s current level and goal, and then move up through the pathway in future modules.

Regardless of grade, each module includes:

  • Live sessions run by a professional mathematician & educator with over 20 years of experience (meet your tutor)
45-minute live online lessons each teaching week (allow for an extra 5-10 mins, we may and often do overrun — to answer any remaining questions), with 3 teaching weeks per month and 1 consolidation week
Groups are capped at 8 students.

  • Replays of every lesson:
So your teen can rewatch explanations or catch up if they miss a class.

  • Full access to a comprehensive, purpose-built GCSE maths resource library:
Video theory lessons across all grades
    Pre‑recorded practice and worked examples
Fully detailed past paper walkthroughs for mocks and an in-depth understanding of 'where the marks are hiding'
This means learners can revise earlier topics, go ahead, or fill in any gaps at their own pace.

  • Progress tracker:
A simple tracker so you and your teen can see which topics are covered, what’s been mastered, and where to focus next.

  • Clear structure and pacing:
We work through the topics in a logical order, with time to practise and consolidate, so the learners are not just racing through content.

Two simple steps to enrol:

See a clear payment structure for each Module > HERE <

 Step 1: £50 deposit (non‑refundable)

When you enrol, you pay a £50 non‑refundable deposit.

This reserves your teen's place in the cohort and covers:

  • Your teen’s first 2 weeks of live lessons
  • Full access to all GCSE maths theory and practice resources instantly upon payment
    (worth ÂŁ20/month)
  • Their personal progress tracker, which you can keep

Step 2: Pay the remaining course fee

After the deposit, you can either:

  • Pay in full
  • Spread the remaining balance with a simple monthly payment plan*

See the payment details > here <

*These instalments are a payment plan for the full module, not a cancel‑anytime subscription.

Fit Guarantee (first 2 weeks)

Attend the first 2 weeks, use the resources, and see how your teen connects with the format.
If by Friday, 18th September 2026, you feel it’s clearly not the right fit, email me and I will:

  • Cancel your place for the rest of the Module, and
  • Refund any payments beyond the ÂŁ50 deposit / cancel remaining instalments.

The £50 deposit simply covers those 2 weeks of teaching and the resources you’ve already used.

After this date, your teen’s place is confirmed for the rest of the Module and there are no refunds for missed lessons or a change of mind, so the group can move forward together.

GCSE Maths Pathway is a structured group format, with teaching methods and course delivery derived from our very successful personalised small online groups.

See what our other students say about learning with us:

When we started: "Thank you, Veronika! R. has found the lessons very useful, he likes how clearly you explain everything."

Our maths education stands on these key concepts:

MATHS should be accessible to everyone, whether you want to become a scientist, work in finance, conquer the medical field, manage your own business or simply use maths in everyday life.

UNDERSTANDING is the game changer when it comes to learning.

The more you know (and understand), the easier the learning becomes.

FUN — an essential part of learning; which we've mastered when it comes to online tuition.

The right approach to learning matters!

TEAMWORK helps develop valuable interpersonal life skills.

We're in it togehter — we support each other and celebrate progress together.

Our small online maths groups provide an educational base for all learners who are motivated to gain confidence and get better at maths by understanding concepts, not just by memorising formulas, and who want to have fun while learning in an inclusive environment with other learners.
We learn from mistakes, celebrate curiosity and nurture independent learning — these important life skills that our students are gaining too, are an integral part of the learning with us.

We use the EUREKA! framework

— a carefully developed, experience-refined approach that brings real results

Over the past 20 years, I've developed my own educational framework called EUREKA!, which I apply in our online groups to help students learn maths in a simple, fun and easy way.

Easy steps to build confidence

Our groups are based on ability; 'stage, not age'. The Modules are designed to follow a clear pathway at different stages. But it doesn't end here; each student, based on their self-assessment (which is provided), can flexibly adapt their learning routine using the comprehensive resource library that covers the entire GCSE and iGCSE curriculum.

Understanding, not memorising

Our core principle is to explain the topics in both live lessons and prerecorded video theory, which allows a flexible learning pace. This includes learning from our mistakes as a part of the natural learning process.

Review for lasting knowledge

A variety of optional resources is provided for further individual practice, allowing for the strengthening of knowledge over time without the need for strict homework deadlines. Optional drop-in sessions provide extra practice in a different format to cater for varied learning styles (available to attend live or catch up as a replay).

Experience through exploration

Fantastical Maths Stories are now included to support the explorative part of learning. 'Lived maths' is explored through the lens of young adventurers who solve real-world problems and invite learners to help solve them and try related hands-on activities.

Knowledge in context

Maths Stories also bring 'dry textbook maths' into a real-world context, ticking off two parts of the EUREKA! framework at once, and supporting learners at an unbeatable level!

Aha! — the moment of insight

When it all clicks together, the 'Aha!' moments start coming, for some in just a few weeks, or sometimes even in the first lessons! When the EUREKA! framework is utilised to its full potential, the 'Aha!' moments are practically unavoidable, hooray!

FAQ

Meet Veronika, the founder of GCSE Maths Pathway: the place where you'll get maths, just like we do.

Hi, I'm Veronika, and while I look young (I believe it's because I'm young-spirited, which my students appreciate very much), I've actually been working as a maths tutor for more than half my life.

After more than two decades of tutoring maths to students of various ages, levels and abilities, I have perfected maths learning strategies, tips and hacks which I enthusiastically implement in my lessons.

GCSE/iGCSE and Nat 5 are the most sought-after levels of maths I'm repeatedly asked to help with, so I have created comprehensive maths courses that help students move from basic maths knowledge to passing their exams and getting the grades they aim for.

In my experience, it is vital to make sure basic concepts are understood, so students can build on a solid foundation. Learning from mistakes, with real-life examples and especially in a group so you don't feel alone on your journey (humans are social creatures, after all), is what I found works great if you want to truly understand maths, not just memorise an enormous amount of formulas and rules.
